There is something captivating about a board that looks like the sea mid-storm. Teal swirls, deep navy depths, and white sea-foam scatter across each square, creating a chess board that feels less like a game and more like a window into the ocean.
This is the kind of piece that earns a permanent place on a sideboard, a coffee table, or a desk.
Details
The board is worked in teal and black, with each light square alive with swirling ocean pigments and white splatter that evokes crashing waves. The contrast against the deep, still black squares gives the whole board a sense of movement and drama. It is finished with a final flood coat of resin across the entire surface, giving it a perfectly smooth, glass-like finish that you have to touch to fully appreciate.
The two sets of pieces are just as considered as the board itself. One side is cast in deep midnight navy, solid and commanding. The other is marbled in ocean blue and white, translucent and shifting with light. Together they feel like two forces of the sea meeting across the board. Every piece is fitted with felt feet as standard, protecting both the board surface and any table it rests on.
The resin throughout is non-toxic and non-yellowing, formulated to withstand temperatures of up to 90 degrees C. This board is built to last and to stay as beautiful in years to come as it is the day it arrives.
