To make the process easy and enjoyable, here is a simple guide to the choices available. I will happily guide you through each step if you would prefer a little creative hand-holding.
1. Board size
Choose the scale that best suits your space and how the set will be used:
• Medium: refined, elegant, ideal for coffee tables and everyday play
• Large: statement-sized, immersive, perfect as a centrepiece or display board

2. What would you like included
Select how complete you would like your set to be:
• Board only: a standalone chessboard artwork
• Board with chess pieces: a fully playable set, designed to complement the board
• Add a matching checker set: coordinated draughts pieces for versatility and visual harmony
3. Colour story and style
This is where the magic lives. You might arrive with a clear vision, or simply a feeling you want captured.
Consider:
• Preferred colours or tones
• Metallic accents, shimmer, or matte finishes
• Florals, botanicals, minerals, gears, or symbolic inclusions
• Mood: dark and dramatic, light and ethereal, bold and playful, timeless and calm
If words are elusive, inspiration images are always welcome.
4. Purpose and placement
Understanding where and how the board will live helps shape its final form:

Once your options are selected, I will confirm pricing, timescale, and design direction. Each board is created by hand over multiple stages, allowing layers to cure slowly for clarity, depth, and durability.
You will receive a piece that feels considered, balanced, and quietly powerful.

Custom Chess Set
Cleaning
- Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth.
- For tougher spots, use mild soap and water.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads—they can scratch the surface.
- Do NOT place in the dishwasher or microwave.
Heat & Sunlight
- Resin can soften with high heat, so avoid placing extremely hot items (like pots or pans) directly resin.
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause yellowing or fading over time—store them in a shaded area when not in use.
Storage & Use
- Resin is durable but not unbreakable—handle with care to prevent chips or cracks.
- While these are made with food-safe resin, it'd probably best not to put them in your mouth.
